Tessa's lying to get her drugs, her brother Elliot is worried about her cause, for him, she USED to do drugs. She hides that part of her from him, always locking her room when she's inside. Elliot is 18, but his sister is only 15, just as much as ashtray, they're born the same day. Even if both of them don't like their birthday. Ashtray don't like anything anyways.
