Raya Caspers was raised by the Crowned Order, trained from childhood to become a silent weapon in service of the realm. Her mission is to infiltrate the Wildblood Rebellion, earn the trust of its leader, Dominic Vale, and kill him. It is supposed to be just another task in a long line of quiet executions. But the longer Raya lives among the rebels, the more the truth begins to unravel. The Wildbloods are not the dangerous traitors she was taught to fear. Dominic is not a savage warlord, but a leader who inspires loyalty and dreams of a freer world. And the Crowned Order, once the symbol of unity, is a regime built on cruelty, silence, and the slaughter of the innocent. As her connection with Dominic grows, Raya is forced to confront the cost of her loyalty. She must choose between the mission that shaped her and the cause that might redeem her. To protect the rebellion, she would have to betray everything she knows. To protect him, she may have to face everything she is. In a land ruled by fear and fire, trust is the most dangerous choice of all.
