Prologue

Amrita Sharma had always known her place. A quiet, obedient girl from a simple middle-class family, she was raised to listen, to never argue, to accept whatever life gave her. And life had given her Rowanith Seghal.

A man of power, of silence, of unreadable eyes that pinned her in place with just a glance. He was wealthy beyond imagination, strong beyond words, and so far out of her world that standing beside him felt suffocating. She was nothing more than a bride handed over in a marriage neither of them had chosen.

She was supposed to be grateful.

Yet, as she stepped into his grand mansion, she felt small. Like a delicate doll placed in a golden cage, surrounded by luxury but stripped of freedom. He barely spoke, barely acknowledged her existence beyond duty. She was just a responsibility, an afterthought in his world of business, power, and control.

And yet... his eyes followed her. His hands, firm and possessive, caught her every time she stumbled. His voice, though rare, held a weight that made her heart race.
