Eleanor Prescott doesn't have time for boys. With her life packed to the brim-swim practice, AP classes, debate club, leadership roles, and a stack of romcom novels always at hand, Eleanor is a master at staying busy. But beneath her carefully planned schedule lies a secret she refuses to admit: she's hopelessly in love with her next-door neighbor and childhood best friend, Anthony Hart. Anthony Hart seems to have it all. As the star quarterback of one of the nation's top high school football teams, Anthony is confident, charming, and effortlessly popular. Girls swoon over him, but he's never been interested, especially not in Eleanor, whom he sees as nothing more than his "little sister." But when Eleanor starts dating someone else... his best friend, no less, Anthony feels a spark of jealousy that forces him to question everything. Matthew Caddel is on a mission. Known for his humor, laid-back attitude, and stellar skills as the team's running back, Matthew is the perfect counterbalance to Anthony's intensity. But life takes a nosedive when his girlfriend, Gia, breaks up with him. Determined to win her back, Matthew hatches a plan to make her jealous. When Eleanor and Matthew realize their goals align, they strike a deal: a fake relationship to stir up jealousy in Gia and Anthony. But as everything unfolds, the line between fake and real begins to blur. Unexpected feelings emerge, and Eleanor finds herself falling for the boy who wasn't supposed to mean anything. She fell first, but will they fall harder?
