Deep within her many woodlands, Algu'oso hides an unknown abundance of secrets. The truth of a murder here, a mysterious new race there, and perhaps even a shadowy monster lurking in the darkness, waiting, watching, for the opportune time to unleash its horror upon the world. Revered heroes of the ancient days disappeared inside them, never to be seen again, and nightmarish evils arose from their soils to terrorize those around. Indeed, the woodlands of Algu'oso can be dark places...

For some.

Phara has lived far within the Eesthwood Forest for nigh six years--ever since she was brutally wrenched from her mother's own arms by a dark magus and carried away--and yet, she has had no troubles from it, excepting the occasional goblin horde to pass through. Why? Because she now resides with the wood-elves of Eldeseir, and wherever an elf chooses to wander, a tranquility like no other follows.

However, a black horror from Algu'oso's bloody history has come to challenge that tranquility; to conquer all and spread oppression throughout the lands. As it soon becomes apparent, no alliance can hope to stand up to its might, not even the Guardian of All, Rikiuu--who mysteriously vanishes when the face of Algu'oso's very downfall shows itself.

No one has the strength to draw near enough to this new enmity to slay it, but despite every advantage laid against her, Phara still managed to end up in its claws, alone and too far from help to call for it.
