Jace awakens in a dark, unfamiliar cave-his mind blank, his past erased. The only clues to his identity are the three strange marks on his arm and a world outside that has crumbled into a twisted nightmare. Ruins of once-great cities stand as monuments to the devastation of World War IV, and magic, once a force of power, now fuels the chaos that grips the land.

The war didn't just shatter nations-it warped the very fabric of nature. Mana, once a gift, has seeped into the earth, corrupting life itself. Animals have mutated into nightmarish beasts, their bodies twisted by unstable magic. And when the sun sets, far worse things emerge from the darkness-monsters that prowl the ruins, hunting anything that dares to move.

Wandering through this broken world, Jace discovers a city and is caught by the guards of the towing walls. However, there are no records of his existence, no trace of who he was before the war. Yet, for reasons he doesn't understand, powerful factions are hunting him-some seeking his destruction, others desperate for answers only he can provide.

As he pieces together fragments of his past, Jace begins to realize that his forgotten identity holds a secret that could change the fate of the world. But some truths were buried for a reason... and uncovering them may come at a deadly cost.

Introduction - The Sky's Embrace (Connected to the Kingdom of Knights) Long ago, the Kingdom of Knights stood as the strongest realm, protected by four legendary princes-Bright, Win, Mew, and Gulf-who wielded elemental powers. With their combined strength, they upheld peace and prosperity. But peace is fragile. A great betrayal shattered the balance, igniting a war that left the kingdom in ruins. The royal family was slaughtered, the castles reduced to ash, and the once-glorious four protectors fell into an enchanted slumber-sealed away until the rightful heir awakened them. The world believed the royal bloodline was lost forever. But a secret remained-the last prince survived. Nani, the hidden heir, had been whisked away as an infant and protected beneath the ocean, raised by the merfolk with no knowledge of his true origins. He grew up believing he was just another child of the sea, unaware of the destiny waiting for him. Watching over him from the celestial realm was Sky, a divine guardian bound by fate to protect the last prince. For years, Sky had remained unseen, ensuring that Nani's enemies never found him. But now, darkness is rising once more. The same enemy that destroyed the Kingdom of Knights is returning, determined to finish what they started. With Nani's identity finally revealed, he and Sky embark on a dangerous journey to reclaim the lost kingdom. But even with the guardian's strength, they are not enough. To truly defeat the enemy, they must awaken the four legendary protectors-the only warriors strong enough to restore the balance of the world. As Nani and Sky fight side by side, their bond deepens, challenging the very laws of heaven and sea. But with love forbidden between a celestial guardian and a mortal prince, will their hearts become a strength or their downfall? The Kingdom of Knights will rise again. The four protectors will awaken. But in the end, will Nani and Sky's love survive the battle that awaits? -- ✍️Ven_Writes

{ snap, shatter, and howl pt. ii: being the sequel to mirror shards } Four months on from the Mandikhor attacks, Sydney Herondale is sure she's done. She's fallen in love (with Matthew Fairchild), she's starting to heal, both literally and metaphorically, from the wounds dealt to her in Romania during her travel year, she's got a flat in the City and with the mystery of her grandfather's identity solved, her research project is done and she can rest now. It's over. Or so she tells herself. You see, Sydney is magic. First that blinding rage when she goes into battle, then her strange ability to go ignored when she doesn't want people looking, and now, suddenly, she's starting to see magic, the ebb and flow and current of it like brushstrokes on Van Gogh's canvas. And if her grandfather's whispered, cryptic words are right, somehow all of these are meant to meld together to make...what? Well, she'd better find out, if she wants to make sure the magic is hers to control and hers alone. Not, of course, that anyone's making that easy.
