It's a new term at Olivine Isle Academy, and it could not be off to a better start. Rory is finally practicing her own magic, there are three new students and Tess is studying on the other side of the world. That is until a vampire bat mysteriously appears on the island, and Rory begins to fear that her old enemies may not be as dead as she thought.
In order to bring the truth to light and prove herself innocent of murder, Rory must prove that this vampire bat is more dangerous than meets the eye. In order to do that she must uncover the school's dark past, and the part her own grandmother played in it. Along the way, Rory is forced to confront the unsettling truth behind her curse, as well as her own complicated feelings towards Tess.
But there's little time for teenage romance when there's a vampire bat loose on the island... and it's feeding off of students.
