The rebellion. Five thousand years ago Crystal Gems from Homeworld rebelled and won. The gems that rebelled were Rose Quartz, Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, and Topaz. Each powerful gems. After the rebellion, these gems were exiled to Earth. But instead of acting like prisoners, they protected the planet full of life. All of them except for Topaz. In battle her gem was shattered. It was too far damaged for even Rose Quartz to heal. Believed to be dead, the shattered pieces of the topaz were bubbled and put away in a secret room of the Gem's temple on Earth.

Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right.
