Katelyn Andrea Gilbert, the twin sister of Elena Gilbert and older sister of Jeremy Gilbert. Katelyn is also a mother. She had her son, Justin Richard Lockwood, on April 15th, 2007. She was 14 almost 15 at the time.
The Gilberts lost their parents in May 2009, Grayson and Miranda let their daughter, Katelyn drive that night when they went to pick up Elena from a party. They were on the way back when the rear drive side tire blew causing them to go off Wickery Bridge, Miranda and Grayson losing their lives as Elena and Katelyn survived.
How will Katelyn deal with the guilt of losing her parent when she was driving? What happens when the Salvatores move to town?
