The Boy No one wanted

At nineteen years old, Ashton Evergreen has already learned that home doesn't always mean safety, and family doesn't always mean someone will stand by you. After years of struggling with everything he has experienced in his past, Ashton has found a way to cope with the overwhelming emotions and memories that continue to follow him. When life becomes too much, he turns to regression to step away from the pain of being an adult. It is something Ashton keeps carefully hidden from almost everyone around him, terrified that if anyone discovers the truth, they will judge him, treat him differently, or decide that something is wrong with him.
But Ashton's carefully controlled life begins to fall apart when an argument with his father ends with him being kicked out of his home. With nowhere to go and very few people he trusts, Ashton finds himself suddenly facing the harsh reality of being on his own. He has no idea where he will sleep, who he can turn to, or what he is supposed to do next. More importantly, he has no idea how he is going to cope without the small sense of security he once had.

Then there is Tony.
Tony is a police officer who has known Ashton for years. Although their lives have taken them in very different directions, Tony has always looked out for him and has come to recognize the quiet signs that Ashton is struggling-even when Ashton refuses to admit it himself. When Tony discovers that Ashton has been kicked out and is suddenly left without a safe place to stay, he refuses to walk away. Tony wants to help, but getting through to Ashton won't be easy. Ashton has spent years learning how to hide his feelings, push people away, and convince everyone around him that he is fine. As Tony slowly tries to earn Ashton's trust, he begins to realize there is far more going on beneath the surface than Ashton is willing to admit. And eventually,
