We Promised Tomorrow is a dystopian novel set in March 2056. It begins when the commandment "Thou shalt not be forgiven" burns into every Bible across the world, triggering chaos. Rifts tear open the earth, unleashing demons that ravage cities-Chicago, Mumbai, Nairobi-reducing them to ash. Six survivors converge: Mara Evans, armed with a pitchfork; Elias Holt, wielding a shotgun; Aisha Mwangi, carrying a guitar; Lila, scarred by guilt; Father Mateo, clutching a Bible; and young Sam, with his teddy bear. They fight through ruined plains, gas stations, and caves, losing Vikram to a rift-sealing sacrifice. Blood-Vikram's, Lila's, Sam's-closes gates, but their confessions and will prove stronger, defying despair. Facing the devil's towering arm and a golden refuge, they reject escape, sealing the last rift in a valley. There, they rebuild among survivors, forging a fragile dawn from ash through choice, not grace.

The world did in fact not end with a bang, but a whisper. Nothing was left but a suffocating stillness. The air was thick with ash, the remnants of humanity left to crawl through a poisoned wasteland. The whispers of those we had lost haunted us. The line between predator and prey had began to blur. The dead did not rest but it was the survivors that plunged the earth into darkness. I had grew to watch the accustomed look of desperation between my group. Haunted by my past I became a distant memory to those I once looked to for hope. They just didn't understand that biding time wasn't a blessing, it was a curse. And I realised, as the sky grew white-the end was never the worst part; it was what came after. ---------- Book series: Book 1- In the Afterlife Book 2- Ashes of tomorrow
