ot8 ateez x oc Adaptation, the evolutionary process where an organism becomes better equipped to its habitat. Something all children of Z are taught at a young age. A mandatory part of the strict curriculum made to identify the different types of evolution caused by the war. An intro to the real danger that lurks beneath the surface of the high tech cities and its prestigious labs. The powers caused by exposure to high doses of radioactivity. In other words the specters. These subhuman people were once the majority of the population after the 500 year war. Yet as the world adapted and changed and the beginnings of Strictland City started they began to be seen as a threat rather than simply a result of adaptation to the harsh habitat changes. So as the laws changed and the number of specters began to dwindle the elitists began to round up the remaining ones. To monitor and use them to adapt the DNA of the guardians that patrolled the streets and walls of the sectors. From then on Aurora Labs was born. The leading laboratory in charge of the specters and also the pride and joy of the Sai family. The Sai's had been the lead sponsors for the labs endeavors for years their support earning them their place in sector 1 below the elites. The choice was simple for Izora. She would simply abide by the rules set by her family name and her city. Yet Izora was so much more than that. She knew the truth. Her heart was kind in a world where feelings were frowned upon. She lacked the ability to simply ignore the issues caused by the laws and regulations and the sectors. She despised it all. So she decided she was going to do something about it. Izora Sai was going to show the elites just how flawed their systems were. From the inside she would destroy them. She wouldn't step a toe out of line but she would burn the city down and perhaps the eight handsome specters she had been assigned to could help her.

She built her empire from nothing - rising from the ashes of poverty with fire in her heart and steel in her spine. Cold. Calculated. Untouchable. That's who she had to become after the boy she once loved shattered her in high school. What he did is a secret she buried deep, but the scars never fully healed. They only hardened her. Years later, she's no longer the girl he left behind - she's the formidable CEO of one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. But when a high-profile investigation threatens everything she's worked for, her options vanish - except one: a marriage of convenience to the very man who first broke her. He's successful, untouchable in all the ways she isn't - and tied to powerful circles that could make her problems disappear with a signature. It's strictly business. A necessary sacrifice. A temporary arrangement. But as they step back into each other's lives, old tensions ignite, truths begin to unravel, and the cold walls she's built around her heart begin to crack - revealing the girl who once believed in love... and the man who might still be hiding the truth behind why he broke her in the first place. In a world where loyalty is currency and love is the ultimate risk, can two broken hearts find their way back to each other - or will the past destroy them all over again?
