Annabeth Chase is sitting alone, staring at a spreadsheet of grad school options and job applications. Her shoulders are tight. Her jaw clenched. There's a feeling that she's running on rails-no detours, no pauses, just acceleration.
A notification pings. It's from Piper McLean, a name she hasn't seen in months.
"Hey... last-minute trip this weekend. Just like old times. Leo's dragging everyone. Jason and I are going. You should come. Seriously. You need this."
