The story narrates the lives of three teenage friends with challenging stories as they try to grow up through thousands of difficulties. The main character (whose name is never revealed) lives by himself with his mother.
He has two friends, Ismail (the youngest of five brothers from a Moroccan family, obsessed with girls and a deep hatred for everything that surrounds him) and Rachele (whose father has frequent bipolar crises that nobody can contain, which cause his daughter to both hate and love him).
When the protagonist's mother gets cancer, their lives explode; they look for improbable and fatally disastrous solutions, but each of them ends up starting a small fire of their own.
The story of three teenagers, "different" but "similar" to many others, unfolds between levity and drama, irony and awareness.
