A cluster of snowflakes. That's the first thing he remembered. He was much younger then. And much more innocent. That's how they all start, isn't it? No one is ever born a monster. But anyone can turn into one. Alarik Solis is a cold-hearted villain with only one thing on his mind. Finding the celestial crystal. As a child, he had the powers of his ice witch mother, but the heart and strength of his kind celestial father, and his mother despised him for it. She froze his heart, cursing him with immortality and loneliness. Only true love's kiss or the crystal could break the curse. His only problem was Adara Hayes, his old flame. The last living fire noble. Her mother was the last to hold the crystal, hiding it somewhere safe. To ensure leverage over her, he froze her heart with a catch. As a child of the flame, true love's kiss would thaw her heart, the water dosing her flame and killing her. Her only hope to break the curse was for someone with celestial blood to use the crystal. As an unknown threat looms over them, Alarik realizes he and Adara must work together to find the crystal before they do, and all his old feelings for her begin to surface. He tries to fight them down. He's a villain, afterall. But Adara begins to show him he doesn't have to be the monster everyone fears he is. His struggle with redemption and second chances sends them on a wild adventure to find the crystal and break Adara's curse, and soon he finds he'd do anything to keep her safe. But will it be enough? In order to embark on a mission to discover alien life on the icy moon of Jupiter Maria must leave her life on Earth behind, including her father and her seven-year-old son Diego. She thought the hardest part of the mission would be saying goodbye, but little does she know what awaits her and her crew on Europa, an environment that has never been explored from the surface until this mission. Perhaps alien life was never meant to be explored by humans... Will she fulfill her promise to her father and son to make it home alive, or will she fail to make good on that promise like her mother did when she was a little girl? Note: This story was written during a challenge to write an entire book in one week! Snow
Snow. Her breaths were shallow as she listened. She'd been locked in this tower for nearly twelve full moons- enough! She couldn't take it any longer. Her door opened to view her brother, stripped from all illusion- "Sister" Frost murmured, the same sadness that resonated in her soul reflected in his eyes. They both knew it had to be done- she knew he had to be in the palace to see the wreck their mother was causing after killing their father, incapacitating their grandmother and cursing their people. Seven years of war made them ignorant of the internal wars they didn't realize they were overlooking. "I have to go, if we have to survive, then I have to go." She whispered as she stood in front of her twin brother. They knew it had to be done, so that attention will be focused on her because they'd assume they'd both escaped from this realm due to the natural assumption that they can't be apart from each other "You cannot die, I beg of you." Frost said wrapping his arms round her frail frame. Once they'd disengaged from the hug, her eyes hardened from what was to come. She turned and stretched forth her hand- she'd been practicing the witch side she'd gotten from her mother- to unveil the door she's kept hidden in her room. Her library- It wasn't technically a library but a space she'd found where whatever she thought came to existence. Hence why she'd filled it with copies of books she'd read over the years long before the war- "Will you come back?" Frost called as she opened the door that stood before before her. She turned and smiled- "Of course brother, this will always be home- we just need to regroup, so we'd win it once and for all." She answered as she pushed it open and walked in taking the door with her
The Elementals - The Ice Princess
When Eira was seven, she was involved in a car crash that left her mother dead and her with no memories of the incident. Eira learns that she is being protected from anyone or anything that may do her harm and it's not long before an evil entity with an army of dark souls, (including her mother's) knows exactly who and where she is. With the dark entity's army, the "Achlys" unrelenting in their search and closing in, Eira and Alexander escape into seclusion. It has been nine years since Lyra discovered Grigore; her Weaver and guardian of the living magic nestled in her body. Nine years since she doggedly followed him through hell and death, determined to not let him slip out of her grasp and shake free his denial. Nine years since he accepted her. Rumours are spreading that a Lord is hunting Sources; his lands plagued by famine and madness. As Lyra dreams of two women begging her to save them, she finds herself inexplicably pulled to the cursed lord and his haunted lands. Despite the dangers, Lyra and Grigore dive into the chaos, unaware that their abilities as a hunting pair and as lovers was going to be put to the test. Volume Two of the Dark Folktales. This is a horror, erotic romance, with monster-of-the-week vibes, such as Buffy, Supernatural, Witcher, Claymore, and Van Helsing. (I'm a massive fan of the monster hunting genre.) Back in 2014 I finished writing the original story, The Weaver's Source, and I am re-opening the world again as I feel I have a story worth telling. The Coven's Source is set nine years after the original ends, is a single story arc rather than many small ones. This will show the hunter I always envisioned Lyra to be but didn't have the opportunity to show. Author's note - Please be mindful of what you're saying when commenting. I'm happy with helpful criticism, spelling/grammar pointers, questions or simple chatter. However, a tirade of needless, unhelpful complaints and just outright rude commentary is not welcome.
