~ongoing~
Andrea Wren had experienced countless setbacks in her life, the greatest of them all being the loss of her parents in a hit-and-run.
The unsolved mystery tormented her for years, she believed that there was more than the court revealed.
Now that things are eventually looking up and she has a lead on the case, an intimidating man lurking in the shadows gets in her way.
There was nothing soft about him. Not his voice, not his stare, and definitely not the way he moved, like every step had already been plotted ten moves ahead.
Though they start off on the wrong foot, the walls between them soon begin to crack and a reluctant alliance is initiated.
With glares turning into secret glances and an irresistible attraction binding them, something more is bound to arise.

He smirked, the kind that curled with trouble, and slowly leaned in, his eyes locked on mine, unblinking.
My breath hitched as I braced myself against the desk behind me, my fingers curling around the edge.
His gaze flicked to my lips, a fleeting loaded glance, before he abruptly turned away stepping back just far enough to make me ache for air.
"If you keep this up," he murmured, voice low and edged with heat, "I might just kiss that smart mouth of yours."
I pushed off the desk, circling around him, my tone firm but my knees anything but steady. "I'm being serious here."
"So am I."
There was something darker in his eyes now, something unreadable and electric. My skin tingled with warning. Before I could figure out what had shifted, he moved.
~weekly updates~
This time, I can't help but flinch as touches me and pulls the other strap down .. baring my other shoulder to his eyes.
"Anthony, you can't say those things. We ... we're supposed to be best friends."
He kisses my shoulder and the words come out weak, unbelievable .. unconvincing even, as they come from my own lips.
Anthony stays quiet after what I say, or rather he ignores me, instead using his other hand to play with the skin on my stomach exposed from the top.
"I know .." He trails off.
I hold my breath in wait, the temporary silence sending my mind spinning at the situation that'd developed.
"But I don't know if that's enough for me, B." Anthony moves my hair to side as he says the words endearingly.
And then there's another kiss to pair.
Although it isn't a simple peck this time. It's an actual kiss, slow and softly pressed into the nape of my neck.
Beatrix thought she'd never trust another guy again.
Her last relationship had changed her, in so many ways that she hated. The experience had been unbelievable and both unbearable.
After doing the first year and a half of college online, she transfers to the esteemed, private Highland University with just one wish:
Normalcy.
The plan was simple .. just keep her head down, study her ass off, try to become a functional person once again and hopefully make one friend or two.
Everything was supposed to start over that year, a fresh start for her. She'd had high hopes and was faithfully prepared to blend in to the background.
And it does go well.
Until she sits down in Spanish, where she meets Anthony Gamaro.
Beatrix finds herself in an odd friendship with the 20 year old football player. One that's strangely wholesome and slowly helps her begin to open up a bit.
Not just to him but new friends, opportunities and the college experience of course, filled with studying, stress, partying, fun and some drama.
