There's been some controversy on whether a Cars 4 is actually coming out, so regardless of whether it does or not, I'm writing my own, bc I know a lot of us aren't too happy with how Cars 3 ended, so I'm going to try and smooth it out. Writing out complicated feelings is my business. In the aftermath of changing his career, Lightning thinks everything is on the right track after days of agonizing uncertainty. But deep inside, he isn't ready to let go yet, and the light of his mistakes, recent and long ago, seems unwilling to let him be. Familiar faces clash as Lightning tries to set himself straight once and for all, moving forward with his life and finding contentment in what he has now. In spite of what was taken from him.

After several months of racing, Lightning McQueen and Doc are looking forward to some rest and relaxation in Radiator Springs. Needless to say, they don't get it. Behind everyone's backs, a billionaire scientist has been working on a project that inadvertently brings six humans (Nikki, Zane, Hector, Elsie, Zhara, and Abbey) into the car world. If they want to get home, they're going to need the help of everyone in Radiator Springs. It doesn't help that the billionaire who brought them there in the first place is looking for them...and willing to do whatever it takes to get them back.
