50 years ago, strange meteors fell from the sky. It started as a mere few, and they went ignored. Until more and more began falling through the atmosphere. Scientists began researching the meteors. They discovered the meteors were made out of some strange material, one they've never seen before. They were tested on, one scientist came into contact with one, and a strange gem inside lept out and fused with his hand. Shortly after, he developed otherworldly abilities like the ones you'd see in comic books. Scientists were astonished by this, and began testing them with live subjects. Some gems fused with the subjects, while others didn't. Something about the person attracted particular gems rather than others, and they gave that person strange powers. These peculiar space gems were then called, the Potentia Lapis. As to be expected though, shortly after the news of the Potentia was made public, every government in the world rushed to find these in hopes of gaining a military advantage over everyone else. Because of this, the Potentia were even more rare than they already were, finding one was near impossible. Those who did either joined the military or law enforcement as 'superheroes,' and some as to be expected used their new powers for evil. So priority was changed from gaining military power, to increasing superhero numbers in order to keep their people safe. The people with the powers of the Potentia were then called, Powers.

Once upon a time, five people agreed to be part of a secret experiment. The experiment was meant to give them superpowers. They were promised that their loved ones would not be affected by the experiment, no matter what the outcome was. This was good, as the experiment failed--or so they thought. For one, it was her first child. For another, his second-born. For a third, her third. For the fourth, her fourth, and for the fifth, his first. They were all born with strange powers--powers that nobody could explain, and that put everybody around them in danger. Taken from their parents, the children were raised apart from society. They served a particular purpose. Nothing would go wrong. Until something does... or a lot of somethings.
