It was supposed to be an ordinary, peaceful day. All she wanted was to relax, grow a bit, maybe soak up some sun-nothing crazy after dealing with the past. It was her way to become a goddess. There were many memories and adventure that she went through but she felt it was time for retirement. But no, of course, fate had other plans. Instead of lounging around, she found herself to be hunted. Apparently, some ancient godly decree said humans had to be spared... which she found incredibly inconvenient. Stumbling upon many people who live and die over time. Until... Enter a tiny snake, full of righteous fury. "I want to kill all of you humans so much!" She hissed, shaking her little tail in frustration. She was currently trapped in the hands of a man whose eyes glowed with an unnatural light. He simply stared down at her, entirely unfazed by her threats. It was strange though that he had an odd scent on himself. "You want my deadly bite!" She added, her voice full of venom. Instead of trembling in fear like any reasonable person would, the man just looked... amused. Great. Out of all the humans, she had to get stuck with this guy who was still oddly strange.

This story began as a NaNoWriMo 2012 work, with no planning, and even less idea of plot. I learned from that experience that I am not a 'pantser' -and spent about 20 painful months trying to turn my stream-of-consciousness 3-stories-in-one into one coherent novel, following the timeline and events in the Book of Genesis. I discovered that that is not a great way to build a plot. I ended after 5 more drafts, at about 60k words. There is another draft on my blog, slightly longer, a bit more experimental. Our story started with a simple "let's see how he'll react if I told him you're my girlfriend". Turns out he'll be my first love.
