It all happened one summer.
I tried- I tried to stop it, to shove it all aside, and pretend as if none of it was real.
But the more I ran, the more I found myself webbed in every disaster I spun.

If there's one thing Connor Sheffield knows for sure, it's that he hauls the weight of misfortune everywhere he goes- like an old clothing he just can't outgrow, or a trademark stamped into his being, leaving crumbs of disaster in every place he steps in.

That, right there, is why he should never have agreed to spend the summer break with his best friend's family at their lake house.
Also why his breath should never have compressed in his chest the minute he set eyes on Ryan Murray.

Ryan is a bad idea, the epitome of temptation and danger. He is hot, young, and walks around with a sex appeal that throws Connor wildly off balance- but he is also his bestfriend's father.

Maybe that last part should have been the indication Connor needed to steer clear of Ryan, Maybe he should have known that this was one of those signs that trouble was coming for the Murray family.

But little did he know the Summer only just started with Ryan- his first mistake.
There's always more to summer. Like Sunflowers, Lemon blooms, and boys.

Boys, it turned out, were the part of Summer no one warned him about.
