Pierce just wants to get away. In the town of Ephram, Wisconsin holds his abusive drunk of a father, his friends who, despite what they said, are going to college at their parents wishes. They were supposed to go to Chicago to make it big (or indie big at least,) but Pierce takes matters into his own hands. Packing up his '97 Dodge Neon in the middle of the night he leaves. At a rest stop outside of Milwaukee he meets Scarlett. Scarlett hears him singing and calls him over, and offers him $500 to let her ride with him. Pierce agrees and the rest is yet to come.
