Ponyboy Curtis is sixteen now, stuck up a year in school as a junior in high school, and still carrying the scars of the friends he lost and the fights he can't forget. He's grown his hair long, bleached blond like it was that night in Windrixville-trying to hold on to the past, even as it threatens to pull him under.
Just when it seemed like the streets had calmed, the war between the Greasers and the Socs starts to boil again. The tension isn't just back-it's worse. Someone gets hurt. Bad.
