In a world ruled by curses and shadows, only the strong survive-and the weak are culled. Nerezza has spent her entire life being told she is nothing. Born last, born unwanted, and treated like a shadow herself, her only value lies in being offered as a potential curse bearer-a living sacrifice to ancient demons. Upon entering the cursed realm, she expects death. Instead, she attracts the attention of Samael, a demon lord whose power rivals Lucifer's-and who has never claimed a mortal before. Their pact is dangerous. Forbidden. And it binds them together by blood and shadow. Now returned to the world that once rejected her, Nerezza must wear the mask of weakness with Samael hiding in plain sight as her "lesser" demon.
