Stricken with grief and tormented by a lack of identity, there seems to be no salvation for Althea. Forced to move her life across the country, following the death of her grandmother, she finds herself in her childhood home filled with difficult memories to recall and an unwanted pull to the supernatural side of her lineage.

Overwhelmed and in perilous amounts of danger Everett is inexplicably drawn to Althea from the moment he first sees her, and in grave need of her help. The world of the otherworldly is quickly turning into a treacherous chessboard, whilst Everett needs to convince Althea to step onto the board, Althea is desperate to find out who set the game to begin with, and how to avoid the fate she fears.
