Main character is the daughter of a Shogun and a doctor, Suki Itō. She joins the Japanese army at 19 years old as the Head Nurse. The general of the army is Yuji Yamano and he seems not to express any interest in Suki in the beginning of the story, but that changes when he gets to spend more time with her.
