Merlia Bridgerton, born into high society to Mother Vicountess Violet Bridgerton and Vicount Edmund Bridgerton. She was the second oldest daughter and was given a name out of the alphabetical order that was originally chosen by her parents. She was born still born. But when what seemed like a miracle breathed life back into her, they knew she needed a name to match the miracle. And what a miracle it was indeed that she was alive, as now she has come of age to enter into society and to find a husband. But no one compared to her dear childhood best friend Gilbert Blythe. In a whirlwind romance, Merlia and Gilbert find themselves navigating the courting season together. Merlia finds Gilbert utterly infatuating and Gilbert cant help but be drawn to Merlia's alluring nature and natural artistic intensity. But with mistakes and miscommunication at every turn, it seemed Merlia was in for the love story of her life.
