Jane Rizzoli is a Boston Homicide Detective and Maura Isles is the Chief Medical Examiner of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Jane and Maura are already the parents of four energetic boys, 9-year-old identical twins, Max and Milo, 7-year-old Jace, and 3-year-old Jax. Jane and Maura wanted to just one more baby to complete their family, but ended up with triple. Jane and Maura are in over their heads because they are now the mothers to seven boys. Jane and Maura need all of the love, help, and patience that they can get.

Named after the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena always felt pressure to have the same intelligence as her parents and sister. Instead of following in her Father's and Sister's footsteps by completing a doctorate, she pursued her dream of becoming a detective for the Boston Police Department. She hasn't seen her sister in a few years due to her being at Boston Cambridge University and her sister not telling her friends and colleagues about her. But when a murder occurs on campus, will she allow her curious mind to take over and follow her sister and Detective Jane Rizzoli in finding the killer, or will she decide it's better to stay out of the case until Maura tells her friends that she exists?
