"Me and Ripple were off again for the mountains, this time more slowly , for Hailstorm had injured one of Ripple's legs. I wasn't sure which way the mountains was, but I was sure it was the other way.
We came to the edge of the forest, only clear planes, no mountains behind them. I had knew it, now we have to go into the forest once more, just to get to the mountains."

Hailstorm and her cats~ Badger-like creatures who kill for fun. Tortures any cat who comes across them. Rules the forest Mountain lives in. Hates everyone, and gives long and detailed talks whenever Mountain is captured under Hailstorm.
Stick~ Was originally on Mountain's side. Feeds info to Hailstorm about Mountain. Always in a bad mood. Hates life, and secretly adores how Hailstorm can torture so many cats, and not fall apart.
Ripple/River~ The kind-hearted cat that would do anything for a friend. Sticks to Mountain even though Hailstorm has tortured her in past times to collect another cat to feed info to.
Jay~ A cat Mountain is in love with.
Claw and Lion~ Hunters for the mountain cats.
First cat Mountain talked to in Mountains~ Welcomes everyone who comes. Is the leader of the group.
Cole~ Mountain's Dad. Is suppose to be dead.
Regan~ leader against Hailstorm. Takes cats in who escaped her.
Melon~ Reg's assistant. Helps train cats to fight back, against Hailstorm.
Mountain~ The main character. Read the book.
Train~ The new and improved Mountain.

He ends up trying to get with someone, just to get his mind off of things, but he realizes Rhiya isn't going to be that easy to get.
