Zyera was born with the rare gift of mastering all kinds of magic-light, shadow, elemental, healing, and more. "You're the Midnight Fighter," he said, voice filled with bitter amusement.
"And you're the monster," she answered coldly.
As days passed in their prison, secrets unraveled. The king had taken them both as bait to lure out the hero-and kill him. But the deeper truth lay in the silence between them. Neither knew each other's names. Neither truly knew who the other was. And neither knew how much they would come to rely on one another-not just for survival, but for redemption.
Together, powerless and forgotten, they may become more than just a hero's side kick and a villain.
