Tides Of Love

Growing up in the Outer Banks felt like living on the edge of the world-beautiful, wild, and always a little dangerous. For John B and me, it was home. We were the dynamic duo before we even knew what that meant. Twins. Best friends. Partners in crime.
But everything changed when our mom left. I was three, but even now, I remember the hollow ache she left behind. John B remembers too, but he doesn't talk about it. Instead, he took on this invisible armor, always looking out for me like he was older by years, not minutes.
And then came the Pogues.
When John B found them, it felt like I was watching him drift out to sea while I stood on the shore. He needed them, I knew that. But I couldn't lie-part of me felt left behind.
