She's left shaken one morning after waking up to a black silhouette stalking the edge of her home's yard. Secrets about Natasha, her family, and her repressed abilities start unravelling when her father shows up that day at her and her brother's high school to take them on a surprise road trip-in the middle of winter. As they take to the road Natasha is left wondering what she had seen.
How will their family survive as they are hunted by monsters only Natasha can see?

Through all of this Natasha's mother, Alicia, fights to get back to her family as her past finally catches up to her. It was lucky she had planned for this outcome. When familiar faces show up at her workplace she sets those plans in motion as she's taken prisoner by the order she'd left behind to keep her daughter safe. Alicia will do anything, overcome the impossible, to keep her family safe and to see them again.
Will she make it out of a prison made specifically to snuff out her flames?
