Adelaide Mills had been through hell after the outbreak happened. She spent the last 20 years with FEDRA and in search of her brother Lucas. Adelaide gets assigned by Marlene the leader of the fireflies work alongside the smugglers, Tess and Joel, to take an important little girl, Ellie, across the country to deliver to the fireflies. 

Joel Miller is an asshole, who cares for no one. He's only mentality is to survive and find his brother Tommy. But once he has to team up with Adelaide he starts to seemly fall for her and Adelaide starts to fall for him. What will happen during the journey to deliver Ellie to the fireflies? Will Adelaide and Joel have some type of spark? Will Adelaide deliver Ellie when she find outs why Ellie is important?
