Aaron Emmott has returned to Terre-Sacrée in hopes that exploring the history of the Rochefort House, an old mansion long the subject of rumour and speculation, will help him cast aside his personal devils and provide inspiration for some short stories.
But when two young boys venture into the woods, and only one returns alive, Emmott begins to realise that something sinister is at work - in fact, his hometown is under siege from the forces of darkness.
