Donnie always had feelings deep down within him, however logic and reasoning stopped him from branching out of his comfort zone. Every now and then when the turtles go out on a mission Donnie sees couples holding hands and acting all "romantic" with each other. It made him wonder if something was wrong with him for the longest time because he never could adventure into that side of him. Until he met this one girl, but he never had the courage to handle it properly or he just didn't know how to. That is, before he found something that could get his feelings across without him "malfunctioning" in front of her.
