It's been 4 years since the virus started making people behave like beasts. Changing them into mindless killing machines, with their only purpose being to sink their teeth in someone's flesh and turn them into one of them.
But this isn't the only problem in this world. It seems like people don't have to be infected with the virus to behave like animals, caring only about their own survival. It wasn't the infected who took your family away, leaving you alone. A ten-year-old doesn't have big chances of survival out here. You were lucky enough to find a small community. A home, that would soon turn out to be only temporary.
