(This is a "Dear Starboy" rewrite)
Tom, in all of his edgy teen glory, is going through a rut. His grades are barely afloat, his parents are annoying, and his girlfriend needs a lot of attention that he can't give at the moment. His friends, Edd and Matt, aren't helping much either. With the stress of teen life, Tom has one thing he can rely on: his journal (a pink diary that he painted over to be checkered instead). But, before he writes his next entry, he hears some cars outside in the house next to his that's been empty since he was 12. Next door, he catches a glimpse of a teenage boy with cold eyes and a warm smile that he can't help but stare at. Next thing he knows, his journal is full of doodles and deep thoughts about the new neighbor kid he never thought he could have for another boy. How will Tom handle this absolute mess?

His family is broken, his mental health is slowly declining, and he's faced questioning his sexuality. Often left to sit in his bed on his phone most of the day, his reasons to live were slowly declining. Tom thought it was better this way. It was better to not disturb anyone, to wear the same clothes over and over, and to stay boring. All, of course, until Tom met him. Updates every Friday.
