Once rulers of the Mid-Line spiral, the Vhos Empire was betrayed and broken. Earth and its sister worlds were turned to ash in the Solaris Purge, a coordinated genocide by alien coalitions and former allies. The galaxy believed the Vhos were extinct. But history does not forget. Nor does vengeance.

Driven into the Tacfelt Veil, an isolated, storm-ridden region of space, the survivors did not fade. They transformed. On dead worlds like Typhus, under rusted skies and cities buried in ash, a new kind of humanity was forged. Comfort gave way to discipline. Peace to purpose. On Typhus, three lives converge, Vince, a cynical laborer; Maln, fierce and restless; and Rei, composed but haunted by secrets. When the Empire calls, they are pulled into a war that will test their loyalty, identity, and the very nature of what it means to be human.

Above them, Grand Admiral Nōrn, an icy tactician shaped by the old ways, struggles to control Project HADES, a superweapon that could tip the balance of the galaxy.
