"A man does not recover from such a devotion of the heart to such a woman! He ought not; he does not."

1913
Rosalind Spencer, the favourite daughter of Warwickshire's duke, fell in love with a gangster. Rosalind fled to Birmingham to escape the dull monotony of aristocracy and crashed into Tommy Shelby's life. They experience a summer of great love, and as Autumn comes, the pair commit to each other.
1914
Only a year after they embarked upon their journey of devotion, Gavrilo Princip ravaged their plans. A vow to wait for each other leaves their lips on a crowded station platform, but as the steam dissipates and the train leaves her view, reality and Rosalind are reunited.
 1929
Rosalind Montgomery sits in a palatial library re-reading the same page of Pride and Prejudice, the particular book has been hers since she was 15 and has her maiden name of Rosalind Evangeline Constance Spencer written in the front; a telltale sign of a bygone era when she believed in soulmates and love always winning. But those dreams had left with Tommy Shelby on the train in 1914.
Tommy Shelby sits in his office, a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth. A cup of tea is abandoned on his desk, the tea was his wife Lizzie's attempt to get him to drink more in the day. His desk draw is open, and a picture of a younger Tommy and a beautiful woman is gracing his palm.

Dorothy Monroe is a petite woman with a heart too big for her chest. She's pure, kind, she looked at the world and determined all the colours of nature were miracles and needed to be remembered. She's loved photography ever since her father brought a camera home and even had a gift with the newly designed lenses ever since she could wrap her small hands around the clunks of metal. Thomas Shelby: gangster; and war hero; he reads the devils script as if it were the morning newspaper - the list will go on. I don't need to say much more, you already know him. The Shelby family, as part of Tommy's expansion plan, bought a large area of the woods on the outskirts of Small Heath, far away from the Birmingham smog, there they built safe houses and kept heavy machinery; maybe even once they kept a large crate of stolen guns, supposedly belonging to the Government. Unbeknownst to Dorothy, who stumbled around the woods (a bulky camera in hand), she had explored the woods many times, taking photos of all the things that shined bright enough, but had never come across the peculiar buildings that held many dangers. That is, of course, until she knocks upon one of the doors, ready to give an earful to whoever had built over this precious patch of land, only to come face to face with one Thomas Shelby. -loosely follows the plot of season 1- *disclaimer* I do not own the Peaky Blinders or any of Steven Knights characters, only the story of Dorothy and her own plot line. This trope is cliche and overused, but idc, I like it.

The Peaky Blinders were a street gang based in Birmingham, England, which operated from the 1880s until the 1920s. The group engaged in robbery, violence, racketeering, illegal bookmaking, and control of gambling with razor blades sewn into these caps. Everyone knew who they were. Everyone could pinpoint the family of mixed Irish Travellers with Romani origins from the very beginning. Everyone was scared. Except one. Although one could argue that she was cautious.... Several months after the end of the First World War, Aurora Wood found herself in a symbiotic relationship with the street gang and, most importantly, their ambitious, cunning crime boss, Tommy Shelby. It stemmed from more than just protection, a need for survival that the woman had because she was one of their own. In a way. Starting with the debt her father accumulated from Tommy. But as suppressing disorder and uprising persisted, the woman with fiery eyes started to adapt. And when one adapted, one became dangerous. Survival became a need, and regardless of Shelby's ambitions to build on the business empire he created and dispatch anyone who gets in his way, there was something about Aurora that he couldn't let go of. Could the enigma be solved for Tommy's sake, or will she escape from rising to the challenge of what she was meant to do? A/N: I don't own Peaky Blinders or any characters and places in this television series. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contain. I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is to establish a creative outlet. I only own Aurora Wood and what pertains to her character story.
