When Eva accepts a short-term research placement deep in an isolated rainforest, it's meant to be a fresh start. Her best friend Julia promises just one week - a chance to escape the grief and trauma clinging to her back home. But paradise turns to nightmare when a local volunteer is found murdered, an axe lodged in his head. The next day, three team members vanish without a trace... including Julia.

With the help of Adam - a prominent researcher and Eva's old flame - she ventures into the jungle to uncover the truth. But the rainforest isn't the only thing keeping secrets. The team has hidden agendas. The research has a darker purpose. And Dr. Jacob, the project lead, knows far more than he's letting on.
