"Reki." Adam stood leaning against the staircase. His voice was smooth. "Where were you?"
Reki gulped, his body turning tense. "I was out," he said shortly. Adam pushed off the staircase and approached Reki. He brushed his cheek, gently, but the action made Reki shiver.
"Tell me, Reki, are you unhappy with me?" Adam's thumb dragged down his cheek, trailing off into the air.
Reki's stomach twisted. The carbonara he had eaten earlier was threatening to make a reappearance. "No, I am thankful that you took me in."
Adam's smile didn't waver. "So you are." his tone grew flat.
"You don't practice anymore, you will fall behind," Adam said with a poisonous tone.
"There is a kid who has caught my eye, Miya, is his name."
Reki felt disgusted by the way Adam's grin widened like a Cheshire cat's at the mention of Miya's name.
Miya, the small kid in the cat hoodie? Would Adam really sink that low to prey on a child? Reki stopped himself, he was a child himself when Adam "took him in".
