An angel and a demon. Unconventional right? This is the story of a girl named Adina. It follows her life and shows how lonely she is. She's never been loved or wanted. She's never even been pitted. Now heaven and hell are a bit different in this world. Think of it as royalty versus commoners. The angels and gods are the royalty and the demons are considered commoners. There are six main gods each having a different power. Light, darkness, nature, love, chaos, and the power of the sea. Each angel is descended from one of the gods. Demons are considered bastards and scum. Usually the cause of the gods having an affair. Introducing Cyrus. The demon that will steal your heart if you don't watch it. Adina isn't so fond of him at first though. They have more in common than they could ever imagine.

In a city ruled by gods and gilded lies, obedience is sacred. The trials are cruel. The king is worse. And angels are not meant to question-they're meant to kneel. But she doesn't. When a spring-born initiate dares to defy the sanctity of silence, she catches the attention of the one being no angel should ever cross: the god of death himself. He should have punished her. Instead... he watched. He intervened. He let her live. And in doing so, he may have doomed them both. Because the Ivory City is rotting from within. And she-bright, reckless, and unafraid-was never meant to survive it. Betrayal was always inevitable. But he never expected to want her enough to let it happen. ~She was forbidden to speak his name. He couldn't stop thinking hers.~
