On the edge of a small town stands an abandoned asylum. Folks say that on full - moon nights, eerie cries and whispers come from it.
A group of young people-bold Jack, sensitive Amy, timid Tom, and rational Lucy-hear the legend and decide to explore on a full - moon night. They enter the gloomy building with flashlights. The gate creaks open, releasing a stinky smell. Flashlight beams show bloodstains and scratch marks on the walls.
As they walk down the corridor, Tom is tripped. He yells that something has his foot, but the others think he's just scared. In a patient's room, Amy knocks over a photo of a twisted - faced patient. Lights flash, and a shrill laugh echoes. Tom tries to run but finds the door closed.
They pound on the door as the laugh grows louder and shadows move. Jack swings an iron bar at the shadows. Amy feels cold hands on her neck. Lucy picks up the photo frame and shouts "Rest in peace!". Miraculously, the shadow fades, lights return to normal, and the door opens.
The four run out, shaken. From then on, they don't dare mess with unknown horrors. The asylum still spooks people in the moonlight, waiting for the next curious souls.
