While visiting her sister at her job at a hospital, Kimiyo Sasaki stumbles on a patient trying to end his life. His name is Kanashii Nakashima, and according to Kimiyo's sister, this is not the first time he has attempted suicide. A troubled past and a sickly body have driven him to believe he is a burden to humanity. Kimiyo tries her best to show Kanashii the value and importance of life.
