After being betrayed by the Hidden Leaf, Naruto is offered up by the village elders to the Akatsuki for the extraction of the Nine Tails. Everyone believes he dies during the process-but he miraculously survives.
With Kurama gone and Konoha's betrayal carved into his soul, Naruto joins the very group that tried to kill him-the Akatsuki.
Over time, he becomes one of their most dangerous and feared members, working under Pain, learning from Itachi, and battling his inner demons. The warmth and laughter he once had are replaced by cold eyes and bloodied hands.
