In a realm where time stretches beyond the limits of understanding, Death is a patient, unseen force. Bound by an eternal duty, they collect souls and mark the end of lives; silent, unflinching, and alone. But when Death encounters a soul unlike any other, calm in the face of mortality and untouched by fear, a shift occurs.

As they follow this soul through the fleeting moments of life, Death begins to question their own existence, their purpose, and the meaning of change. The sands of time, once steady and predictable, now tremble with uncertainty, drawing Death toward a transformation they never expected.

The Hourglass Guardian is a poignant exploration of life's impermanence, the quiet power of change, and the unexpected role one soul can play in shifting the very fabric of existence.

-Shapeshifter Au- Rain was hitting the windows of every nearby building and prompting the pedestrians to keep their heads under their umbrellas, hurrying home and not even looking at the storefront of your café. Why had your boss even scheduled you for a shift tonight? With weather like this, anyone craving hot chocolate would rather drink it at their own place. Sitting behind the counter and sulking, you decided to make a cup of coffee for yourself, no customer would come tonight anyway. Little did you know, but the kind of "shift" that was coming had nothing to do with work. You cleaned the counter and tables, packed your bag, and used your own key to lock up the café. Your body froze when you heard what sounded like whimpers in the alley next to the café. The streetlights cast long shadows, making it impossible for you to see clearly when you stepped forward. You let out a shriek as your phone slipped from your hand and hit the ground. A man was crouched down, his back facing you, but a dim light let you catch a glimpse of the blood soaking his back and shoulders. He turned around and you recognized him right away. His eyes. His hair. His freckles. Felix was standing right in front of you.
