In Masks and Smiles, we follow Sophia Briars, a bubbly, fun-loving girl who hides her inner struggles with an eating disorder. While her best friend Olivia is falling in love with Ethan, Sophia is quietly battling her demons. Her life shifts when she grows closer to Logan Smith, the loud, confident member of the hockey team. But what happens when the unexpected happens and history is brought up? As their relationship develops, Sophia receives devastating news-her older brother, Noah, overdosed and left behind a suicide note. This loss forces Sophia to confront painful memories and her hidden struggles. As Sophia learns to let go of the masks she wears, she finds healing in love, friendship, and vulnerability. Masks and Smiles is a story about overcoming inner turmoil, embracing who you truly are, and finding strength in the people who love you.
