Some boundaries were never meant to be crossed.

For ten years, Elysia has walked the line between life and death-guardian of the Veil, a sacred boundary that separates souls from the world of the living. Chosen as a child, trained in silence and shadow, she has become the last defense against what lurks beyond. But the Veil is weakening, and something ancient has begun to stir.

When a breach tears open the barrier, unleashing a monstrous force, Elysia is thrust into a battle she isn't ready for-one not only against the things that claw through the rift, but the seething, forbidden power rising within her. A power that hungers. A power that speaks.

Haunted by blood-soaked visions and drawn deeper into the mystery of the Veil's unraveling, Elysia must trust an unlikely ally: Kyrie, a fierce, enigmatic stranger with secrets of her own. Together, they uncover a prophecy that may bind their fates-and doom them both.

As the dead grow restless and the darkness presses in, Elysia must decide what she's willing to sacrifice to protect the living, the dead... and the fragile balance in between.

The Veil is breaking. And so is she.

"I know you're a virgin but have you never been touched?" He asked, sliding his other hand down onto her leg. "What makes you say that?" Kat breathed, bracing her hands on the counter. "You react like someone who's never felt another's touch," Nex whispered, slipping his thumb under the band of her shorts. "So, have you not?" Kat opened her mouth to speak but stopped when his hand slid up from her leg, gliding up her stomach and stopping just below her breast. "Not even here?" He asked, following the curve of her breast with one finger, not touching, staying just below as he dragged it back and forth. "What about here?" He asked, sliding his hand down from her ribs to the bottom of her shorts then around to her butt, fingers nearly grazing it as he inched them up, under her pajamas. "I can say with certainty, never here," he said, lowering his other hand under the waistband of her shorts, touching the top of her underwear. "No, you've definitely never felt that before. I can hear your heart racing, I can feel your breathing, I can smell your body responding like it's never experienced these sensations before," he whispered, sliding a finger just underneath the band. "Should I answer its call?" #1 in demons on 6/15 -6/17/20! Again on 6/20 and 6/22-6/23! Sweet and innocent Katherine has a routine and is a little tightly wound. "Shift." His voice hit me like a serrated blade as he stepped out of the crude semicircle of hardened wolves that had formed around me. I pushed myself off of the cold floor for what felt like the thousandth time that day, wiping the small trail of blood coming off of my lip and down my chin. "I won't ask you again." My limbs felt like lead, these wolves had been at me for hours trying to get me to shift into my wolf, unbeknown to them was that their efforts would forever be futile considering the fact my wolf wouldn't make an appearance for me even when I begged. I seriously doubted she would suddenly pop up as a result of their abusive tactics. Instead of explaining my circumstances, driven by a bizarre combination of adrenaline and fatigue, I leaned back on my heels and sent the largest loogie I'd ever conjured flying over and landing squarely between the eyes of the man before me. oOoOoOoOoOo As a late bloomer who was incapable of shifting yet, let alone making any contact with her wolf, Olive Ludovic's life was not off to the best start. Veils and Prophecy: The Seal That Binds

19 parts Complete

Before the Veil There are realms layered atop the world of humans-hidden not by distance, but by the thinnest breath between heartbeat and shadow. The witches call it The Between. The fae's name it The Undone Thread. Others speak only in hushed riddles and dream-echoes, of a place where time folds, where the dead whisper, and where magic sleeps with one eye open. No mortal crosses the veil by chance. Or so the old songs say. But what if someone did? What if a mortal slipped through, unknowing, unprepared,...believing it was an accident, when in truth it was a summon? Not a summoning by will or spell or reason... But something older. A summoning born of yearning-two hearts aching across distance and destiny, one calling and the other answering. They say a prophecy begins with words. But sometimes, it begins with silence. With the quiet breath before a name is spoken. With a pull in the chest that feels like longing and fate braided together. So when the veil opened, it did not roar. It sighed. And through that sigh, something ancient stirred. A forgotten seal trembled. And the world-both the one of men and the one beyond-shifted. Not because fate demanded it. But because love did. And when one heart calls and the other answers. A binding seal will lock in place until the fate's complete.
