This is one of my Folk of the Air series "What if's?". I have a lot of these for many different series. This one is about when Madoc stabbed Jude while she was escaping from his camp in Queen of Nothing. I have had this "what if" for a while. What if the Roach didn't get shot with that dart and Cardan sent him back to the palace while Cardan caught up with Jude? What if Cardan saw Jude get stabbed? I have always imagined this as a bit dramatic when I was thinking and acting parts of stories in my room (I know i'm a teen and I roleplay in my room. [NSFW] In this world, we live in a world where everyone's AU has died out, only find out there was a heaven and hell. One per AU. Of course, the 'awares' had this place they could always go to to talk and was considered as the middle. The center, the heart. As well as hang outs, like a place for the Bad Time Trio, etc. Now, they have angels, demons, and the fallen. Fallens are angels who have committed a sin, but not evil enough to become a demon. They are frowned upon. Not considered the same. Sadly, most of them consist of young children. The angels and demons of course would fight. And at the heart of angel society, was Ink. He was the most cutest, pure, and innocent bean you could ever find. Then there was Nightmare. Being able to have him right around his fingers. Every year, if either on the Angel or Devil side, if there isn't another ruler to rule alongside the main one, or 'protector', then there is a specific time you have to find someone. Otherwise, you get kicked off as it is unfair to rule alone. The only reason Ink isn't kicked off is because he has someone ruling with him. Dream & Blue. Of course, Nightmare has only been able to stall by trying to find one, seeing them as not the one, and the counter gets reset. You can't do it forever though. Now, Ink terribly naive for a protector. Of course, he was the heart. He had a place in everyone's heart- With Dream & Blue being the next. Blue being a guard, and Dream being his 'right-hand man.' Most of the time being the one helping and guiding Ink. They soon find him to be missing, captured by the demons. Panic would be spread all over the place if they were to find out Ink was missing. With this, and a limited time to work with, considering if you were to officially become a ruler of somewhere, your heart has to actually want to leave if you were to leave. Would Dream and Blue be able to save Ink? Or would Ink become the next Queen? The next queen of the Demons? Join us on this journey to find out.

All of this is going on while Jude is ruling Elfhame from behind Cardan, causing her to stand ring on the edge of her sanity. She knows that the only help she's going to get is from The Court of Shadows, which is made up of The Roach, The Ghost and The Bomb.
