Blades, Quills, & Crowns

Blades, Quills, and Crowns is an allegorical novel quietly born from a song-
Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos.

It is not a retelling, but a reflection.
A world shaped by roles, broken by longing, and stirred by the echo of an old harmony.

Long ago, the world was born from The Chord-a divine harmony where all were free to create, protect, and lead without limits. But humanity feared the chaos of choice, begging the Chord for order. So came The Division, where all were split into three sacred Orders: the Blades to serve and protect, the Quills to feel and express, and the Crowns to rule and carry the burden of choice.

Peace came, but harmony died.

Three childhood friends-once inseparable-were assigned different paths when the Division arrived. One became a warrior, one an artist, and one a king. But none of them fit the mold.
The Blade longed to rule, not obey.
The Quill craved the power to fight, not just write.
The Crown wanted freedom, not duty.

Each broke away, building new worlds:
A nation ruled by the blade.
An empire where art was war.
And a wandering soul who vanished in search of freedom.

Now the world stands broken again, not by chaos, but by roles that erased choice. And as the echoes of the old harmony stir once more, the world waits-for the three to return.
Not as what they were told to be...
...but as who they truly are.
