Layla Aveline was the perfect girl. Pretty, smart, friendly, and popular.

You would think she was perfect.

Underneath her fake smile, experiences from her childhood haunted her dreams. She woke up crying, screaming.

And now, she was living those nightmares again.

After returning a necklace to Taylor in the Sorrel Weed House, she was dragged into the phantom realm. And in fact, she would rather be there than the outskirts of an Arkansas countryside with her abusive mother, who used her perfect appearance for money.

Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father claimed full custody of Layla. Her father was almost no better, being neglectful and abusive. One night, he had enough. He gave all custody to her mother. With no phone, and no idea where she is, Layla is taken advantage of and used.
